This is way up there on my list of films to watch…
‘The Interrupters’ is a documentary following the work of an organisation called CeaseFire which aims to end gang violence in Chicago. The film focusses on three “Violence Interrupters”. All of them are ex-gang members and most have done time in prison for offences ranging from drug trafficking to murder. Their aim is stop killings before they happen, confronting gang leaders and resolving conflicts before the violence escalates. Essentially they’re trying to save lives. Extraordinary people doing extraordinary work. Out in cinemas now.
I thought I’d put together a list of my favourite film soundtracks. Some are particularly great songs while most are part of brilliant soundtracks which fit perfectly with their films. I’ve chosen 7, with no particular favourite. All of them, except Little Miss Sunshine, are on Spotify too. Click on track titles or images for YouTube links.

Little Miss Sunshine - The Winner Is
I love this song. Like the film its sad and quirky but also happy. The original by Devotchka is called How It ends.

Kill Bill Volume 1 - Don’t Let Me Be Misunderstood
Saw this again the other night and the soundtrack really stands out. Hard to choose a favourite, but I especially like Santa Esmeralda’s cover of Don’t Let Me Be Misunderstood by the Animals . Also good are Battle Without Honour or Humility by Tomoyasu Hotei and The Lonely Shepherd by Gheorghe Zamfir. Overall a great soundtrack.
Fifty People, One Question: London
Saw The Brother’s Bloom with Archie, Max and Tom this week. Really liked the soundtrack especially this song.
Planning to work my way through this list by the BFI of the top films of 2009. Was pretty disappointed with the Guardian’s 100 best films of the noughties but this looks like the real deal.
